Hire Me

I’d love to write for you! My natural style is clear, concise, and friendly.*

We’ll discuss the ideas you want to convey, and I’ll translate them into written messages that the people you’re trying to reach will understand.

I’m able to tailor my style to meet the needs of your long or short-term project — my experience writing for all kinds of clients as an advocacy professional (lobbyist) contributed to this skill.

I have a BA in Journalism from Penn State, and minored in English and Philosophy. More importantly, I’m proud to offer more than 15 years of experience in writing that impresses clients.

Confidentiality is important to me; you may rest assured that the information you supply will be kept private and handled with discretion.†

Here’s my CV! Thank you very much for considering me; I’m happy to answer any questions. To start things up, send me an email: LManelius@gmail.com

* Notice that I am an Oxford comma proponent.

† Here’s an anecdote to illustrate. When I left my job at the advocacy firm, the day I changed my job information on LinkedIn, a reporter from the Philadelphia Business Journal called to try to get me to reveal information about a scandal going on with one of the firm’s most infamous clients. I did not enjoy that client, but I told the reporter his mission would be fruitless.

Writing Samples

Keeping these handy for public consumption is challenging, since much of the writing I’ve done over the past decade has been ghostwritten or under the umbrella of a confidentiality agreement. Following are a few pieces I can link to publicly. I’m happy to provide more clips & varieties of samples (i.e. newsletters, blog posts, website copy, etc.) privately, just email me.

Article: Pennsylvania Capital-Star, Sept. 23, 2021: “Lanc. Co. EMS faces funding deficit, the latest in a trend of statewide EMS funding woes”

ArticlePennsylvania Capital-Star, March 11, 2021: “New mass vaccination clinic in Lancaster Co. administers 500 doses on its first day; as officials look for increased supply”

One-pager: To explain a complicated issue concerning the Keystone Purchasing Network to state legislators.

Social Media: A Week Away Foundation: I wrote and managed the nonprofit’s social media accounts from 2015 to Feb. 2017. The best way to explore this work is to visit AWA’s Facebook page and view posts from 2016. When you’re on the page, navigate to the left sidebar and click on “Posts”…
